Information from your ERP, such as (customer-specific) prices, stock etc. is also used in your online store. Stentor can retrieve information from your ERP system in two ways: with import-export files (periodic updates) or through web services.
Files with the desired data from the ERP can be placed on the website based on import-export of the files. This process can be automated based on the time unit you can set yourself. Think of item, customer and price data from the ERP that can be imported into the online store daily or every hour. Order files can also be imported into the ERP from the shop in the same way every fifteen minutes, for instance.
Retrieve data from the ERP directly, without delay, or import it using web services. Through a JSON, SOAP or OData link, item, customer and stock information, but also order history or backorders can be presented in the online stores directly from the ERP. With the same link, orders are also directly imported into the ERP.
In order not to burden the ERP too much, the combination of a periodic update with web services may be preferable. With a precise stock display, a web service is necessary, and for customer-specific prices, a web service link is generally also the best choice. However, it may be convenient to import the item information every night in order to increase the speed and ease of use.
