The amount of information that is tracked per product is increasing greatly: there are more and more specifications, images, languagues, and even the relationship between the products need to be recorded. Customers as for up-to-date and possibly even customer-specific information. To manage all product information, relationships and range structure, the ERP is often insufficient. A Product Information Management (PIM) system is used for this.
In the PIM, the range structure is recorded and the product information is managed and enriched: commercial texts, technical texts, images, videos, PDF documents, EAN, QR codes, prices and more. This information can be placed at all product levels. In order to display accessories, related products etc. on the website, the relationships are recorded in the PIM. The classification attributes (such as ETIM) can also be included in the PIM
Product information can be stored and managed in the PIM in multiple languages. Including non-Western European languages such as Russian and Chinese. Information that is language-independent, such as the image name, the brand or the item number, does not need to be entered more than once. This information is automatically copied to the other languages.
Information from the PIM is used for (multiple) websites or online stores. You can choose to publish ten entire range, but partial selections are also possible. In addition to the website, the same information can also be used for an automated product catalog, price list or price sheet.
