How is the product range shown? This is an important question in the early stages of a website or online store. Customers have their preferences in terms of navigation, but even within a range, presenting things in a table overview can be very convenient for one product, while other products are better shown using ‘tiles’. Stentor websites therefore offer two different ways to browse the range: hierarchical or via filtering.
The products are shown in groups from the highest level, whereby the user clicks through the categories step by step. At the product level, there is a table containing the product specifications of the different items from the group in a clear way. From this table, you can place the right product in the shopping cart directly, or click through to a detailed product page. This presentation is ideal for a series of products with small variations in things like size, screws or cables.
With a varied range in which the images have an important role, the item view is a great solution. All product from a category are directly shown in a tile overview including the most important information such as title, price, item number and the order button. Via the extensive filtering in Stentor, customers can shorten the large list of items until they find the right product. Products like clothing, electronics and tools are perfect for this presentation.
You can choose one of the 2 views, but they can also both be used. In that case, users can switch between both views via icons at the top of the product pages.
