Classification of your range with Catalogger PIM
Catalogger PIM is the perfect software solution for efficient product classification in accordance with the ETIM standard. Manufacturers and wholesalers can use Catalogger PIM to optimally manage product information and publish it to web and print directly.
Software to manage classified data is of key importance to both manufacturers and wholesalers. Where the manufacturers needs software to classify in a user-friendly way, the wholesaler needs a program that supports and can read classification. Preferably a solution in which classification and management of (additional) product information go hand in hand. Catalogger PIM is the ideal solution for both purposes: software to manage the entire product range and classification in one central database. All classified product information can be imported and edited in Catalogger PIM.
In Catalogger PIM, in addition to the standardized ETIM classification, you can also set up a custom structure / layout for your products. This custom layout is often used for the online store and paper (or pdf) catalog. Data from the ETIM classification structure can be reused in the custom structure.
The classified information can be shared in multiple ways. Via export files with data pools where users can copy the product information, and via the website or catalog in order to provide customers and users with detailed information.
Classification starts with the classification standard of ETIM. ETIM makes the classification file available with the predefined ETIM structure of product groups, classes, attributes per class and (if applicable) the values you must choose from.
The ETIM structure is loaded into Catalogger PIM, after which you can start entering or importing your product data.
A part of the classification information, such as prices, other trade information and item description, are likely already in your ERP system or in Excel. There is no need to enter this information again, as it can simply be imported into Catalogger PIM.
You can always distribute the classified data directly amongst your customers without the need to deal with a data pool.
After loading the ETIM classification structure into the Catalogger PIM software, you can start. If you assign the right class to your (imported) item information, the associated classification input fields will be shown directly. Entering the predefined values can be done with fold-out lists from which you select the relevant attribute value.
It is also possible to copy the attribute values of an item to different items of that class. And for user convenience, there are smart search options and reports that allow you to quickly navigate to products for which, for instance, not all relevent attribute values have been entered yet.
Via Catalogger PIM, you can easily create an export in the right file format (INSBOU4 XML file). To deliver information to 2ba, the exported item file with associated images and PDF files can be uploaded via the 2ba site.
By using product information that is classified by the manufacturer, you save a lot of work as a wholesaler and correct information is guaranteed.
As a wholesaler, you can download ETIM classified product information from a data pool (2ba) or request it from the manufacturer.
The classified data can then be read into your database (PIM system). It is important that the PIM system supports classification data. Catalogger PIM fully supports the ETIM classification.
The classified data of the manufacturers is loaded into Catalogger PIM, inclusing references to (any) associated images and PDF files. The imported data can be enriched with things like your own product information, promotional texts and own images / PDFs.
A separate structure can also be set up in addition to the ETIM classification structure, for your own product information format. This custom format can also be used for your online store and/or print catalog or PDF catalog, for instance.
After reading in the ETIM 7.0 classification, the product groups, classes, attributes you select and their associated values are displayed. Changes in the classification are also indicated, such as expired attributes and modified values.
By assigning a class to a product, the associated attributes and predefined values are shown, which makes entering the data much easier and faster.
The available trade information from your ERP system can be copied into Catalogger PIM. Catalogger supports the INSBOU4 format for this.
The classified information (or a selection of it) can be exported as an XML file according to the ETIM 7.0 and INSBOU4 format for delivery to data pools such as 2ba. The product information can also be exported from Catalogger for the automatic layout of your online store and catalog.
From the Catalogger PIM system, the classified product data can be used for every conceivable form of media! With Catalogger PIM, this can even be done fully automatically.
The online store is probably the first place where you want to start showing the classified data. After all, that is where your extensive product information is directly available to customers and visitors.
By setting the classification properties as filters, visitors can quickly find the right product.
A datasheet may be the best place to include the classified data; after all, it contains the most complete information about a product. Using classified product data, you can automatically create very detailed datasheets.
The classified data can also be included in the catalog. In order to save space and printing costs, you may not want to present all product features. With Catalogger PIM, this is no problem. You select what data you want to use in Catalogger, after which the desired catalog is automatically generated.
In addition to the ETIM structure, you can also set up a custom structure in which the product information can be formatted differently. With the custom structure, you can create a more detailed layout that is easier to navigate on the website and catalog.
