Adobe InDesign plus Guidance Catalogger

The Catalogger database stores all publication-ready data, including texts, images, etc. Catalogger converts this data, or a selection thereof, into a professional InDesign publication. Upon generating a publication to your specifications, Catalogger creates a fully laid-out InDesign document, to which you can make any desired alterations in the InDesign programme.

Generating in a flow

The key strength of the Catalogger/ InDesign combination lies in the fact that Catalogger takes database content and places it in a flow' in InDesign. Thanks to this flow structure, every element in the InDesign document is integrally connected. Text and image stay together. Make a change in the laid-out document, and data is automatically realigned, preventing gaps if you remove a table or add an additional image. This makes amending documents a snap, whether you have a last-minute text correction or want to add an advertisement in the final layout.

Creative freedom

The fact that Catalogger produces a fully functional InDesign document (including table of contents and index) makes it possible to introduce your creative preferences after document generation. Only the routine' part of the process is automated, leaving more time for the designer to apply creative ideas to the otherwise fully adjustable layout.
